Pay your account

Paying your account with us is an easy, convenient and secure process.

Pay via BPay

Contact your participating bank, credit union or building society to make your payment directly from your bank account. When prompted, simply enter the Biller Code and the reference number, which appears on the front of the payment slip After you make this payment, we will then mail an official receipt to you. Please bring or send both this receipt and the original invoice to Medicare, or your private health insurer in some cases, to receive a rebate if applicable and eligible. Please note that Medicare may not regard a printed BPAY receipt from your online payment as sufficient evidence of payment, so you must wait until you have received our mailed official receipt to claim. Please be sure to provide both the official receipt and the original invoice, as either the receipt or the invoice alone is also not sufficient to claim any applicable rebate.

Pay Online

You can pay your account using our secure internet payment option “Bpoint” with your Visa or MasterCard. You can access Bpoint from the foot of this page.

After you pay your pathology account online, we will then mail an official receipt to you. Please be sure to provide both the official receipt and the original invoice, as either the receipt or the invoice alone is also not sufficient to claim any applicable rebate.

These can include the following:
  • Some molecular genetic testing that may be required after your diagnosis becomes known.
  • Other services we may provide to you if you are an overseas visitor or otherwise not eligible for a Medicare rebate under Medicare Rules.
  • Surepath (cervical cancer detection)
  • Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

Some of these tests may be covered by your private health insurance. Please contact your provider for more details.

If you have a Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card, you will not incur out-of-pocket expenses for any medical services provided by our laboratory. We will bill your tests direct to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for payment.

If you have received an invoice from us, it will be because we have not been made aware of your status as a Veteran Affairs Gold Cardholder, or your card number. Please contact us to provide these details and we will bill your tests direct to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for payment.

Most private health insurance funds have a no gap agreement with our pathology labs. This means that you won’t receive a bill for any Medicare-approved testing that was conducted while you were in hospital. You simply need to be with one of these no gap health insurers:

  • BUPA
  • HCF
  • And many others (contact us to confirm)

However, please note, there are a few private health insurers who don’t offer their members this no gap benefit. They prefer that their members receive a bill direct from our pathology labs instead.

NIB is the largest of these private insurers who don’t offer no gap coverage with our pathology labs (or those of any other pathology provider). So if you do receive a bill from us, you’ll need to pay 100% of your account to us. We will then issue you with an official receipt which you can send to Medicare and your private health insurance company, for a rebate if applicable.

If you receive a bill from us for your in-hospital pathology testing, and you have no health insurance coverage, then you’ll need to pay 100% of your account.

After you pay your pathology account in full, we will then mail an official receipt to you. Please bring or send both this receipt and the original invoice to Medicare to receive a rebate if applicable and eligible. Please be sure to provide both the official receipt and the original invoice, as either the receipt or the invoice alone is also not sufficient to claim any applicable rebate.
